European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR).
All types of transport of dangerous goods by road are subject to the ADR regulations.
‘Dangerous Goods’ means those substances and articles the carriage of which is prohibited by ADR, or authorised only under the conditions prescribed therein.
The objective of these regulations is to ensure safe transport and to minimise the risk of accidents connected with harm to people or the environment by applying general technical and organisational rules for packaging, loading, filling or unloading, carrying and handling dangerous goods.
Each company shall appoint one or more Safety Advisors (DGSA).
Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor – ADR
Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) is a consultant of an organisation appointed by an organisation that transports, loads, or unloads dangerous goods in the European Union.
DGSA should be certified – approved person.
The duties of the DGSA include providing advice to the appointing organisation, preparing accident reports, monitoring the activities of the organisation which involve dangerous goods and preparing an annual report which should be kept for five years.
